Thread Starter
guys i just bought a new asus gtx 590 but the rest of my setup is still old because i am still waiting for i7 2700k release, my ques is when i was playing crysis 2,the witcher 2,i had about 35 frames in 3d vision in both games then i turned off the sli and was still getting the same frames ,is this because of my cpu or these games have a bad sli profile???? my resolution is 1650x1050 3d vision...

p.s.- when is the 2700k is coming out please answer this..

Your cpu is just too slow (not feeding the gpu enough to process) Have you overclocked your quad? Could help things out a bit.

Edit: sorry i saw your cpu is at 3 ghz anyway you can get more out of it? This is definatly the reason for your problem.

In my opinion, your CPU is too weak for GTX590... And also 2700k is just like 2600k except the stock speed...

Idk about witcher 2 but I know crysis is pretty CPU intensive so that's definitely a possibility. Q6600 isn't completely terrible though..basically on par with the Phenom II's clock for clock (inbe4 SB). Q6600 is definitely a huge bottleneck for that card tho lol. It may or may not be something screwy with your SLI setup..try different games that are too CPU intensive and see how that works out

It may or may not have something to do with 3d vision, I'm not completely sure how 3d vision works but I would imagine it would have a taxing effect on the system.

Nasty bottleneck is all that is. It'll get better once you get the 2600k.

No reason to wait for a 2700k.
It is the exact same CPU as the 2600k but with a slight stock speed increase.
It probably wont overclock any better.

Anyway, Overclock the 6600 further. you are going to want at least 3.4 if you can.
But either way the 590 is probably generating an integer bottleneck so overclocking probably wont help a huge amount.

You are getting massively bottlenecked my friend.

My Q6600 overclocked to 3.6Ghz was holding back a single GTX 570, which is half as powerful as your 590.

Rest is same like i7 2600K which costs 250 Euro

So you pay 90 Euro more for 100 MHz :teeth:
(but yeah, price will drop fast)
