LLANO 3650 vs phenom ii x4 955 - Page 5

Llano seems to be a very good chip for the money but it doesn't seem to overclock near as well as the Phenom II chips from my experience. I've had my Llano rig up to 3.7GHz but ran into a non-thermally limited wall. This was just a quick oc to see how it went. My old Phenom II 965 would do 4GHz on air fairly easily...and this was the old C2 stepping on worse air cooling.

Well, on one of them you're going form 2.7 to 3.7. On the other you're going from 3.3 to 4. smile.gif

As for gaming performance - I promise you a full build log and benchmarks as soon as I get my rig, so that is to be settled.

IMO, I believe that the gaming performance would be decent. You pay the same amount for a CPU (or even less), you pay the same amount you would pay for 6670 or 6570, and then get another GPU for free, to CF with (the IGP). So sice I'm on ultra-low budget, that's a perfect gaming solution for me wink.gif No eyefinity, just 1280x1024 or a bit more, Dx11 Crysis 2 and such smile.gif

Yeah budget being a factor is something to consider, especially is someone isnt looking to overclock especially. Not every gamer wants to do that lol My cousin being one of those people, thats why he is a console gamer and only plays startcraft on pc lol

I would prefer a 3650...It's a nice APU for affordable price....It's hd6530d graphics can give you an increased performance than the motherboard integrated 4250 of 955....and if you crossfire it with 6670 or a 6450 or a 6570,you would get even more performance....
