As crazy as it sounds I would really like to hear it. This topic has been so back an forth it's ridiculous. The poll switches from 45/55 to 55/45 all day. Idk what to do. You can PM it to me if you don't want to deal with ppl arguing with you about it, not saying that I will guarantee I get a 980, but it would definitely make the decision process easier.

If you MUST stroke your ego, the 980. Games will appreciate the higher clock speed more than 2 additional cores.

980be...or even better 965 be(its cheaper n ocs almost same a bit lower).....
don't waste money for x6...itys useless for gaming....

gaming will benefit more from higher clock speed rather than more cores......
why not a 1090t? Voted 1100t

Out of touch with amd cpus. But mine is a nice cpu. My 2500k is much nicer though.
I think the 1090t is a strong cpu, but,,,,,,
I'm shooting for the 2500K on my next build

I wouldnt mind seeing your reasons, I hate when that happens though lol. In case I ever kill my 1100t and BD isnt sorted out yet I would consider an x4 if im hard for cash at the time. Honestly though I thought the only reason people get the x4 is for guarenteed 4ghz+ overclock, but I havent seen many 1090/1100's NOT hit 4ghz lately at least. I got lucky with 4244mhz easy. Can probably get 4300+ stable but with the chip i have not worth the extra voltage needed for me. Some people do get 4.4-4.5ghz on 1090/1100s

i donno what all of ocn is on these days...seriously guys r u all sooo naive....???

op needs a proccy for gaming not rendering n other heavy stuff

seriously ask urself apply some logic......does gaming need more than 4 cores with lower frequency or a quad cpu with higher frequency...all the while op will be saving some bucks opting for x4 980 be ...... nuff said :/
post #39 of 75
980BE for gaming.
960T if possible, 955 is best otherwise. As others stated, the 955 will OC the same as the higher clock PII X4's most of the time, so its kind of a waste to spend the extra money for nothing if your gonna OC it anyway.
