1100T. 2 extra cores, with very good overclocking abilities.

Hands down better than the X4 980.

Hes a gamer, and the 980 has higher IPC than the 1100T. For anything practically applicable that isn't about jerking off to benchmarks, 980BE is superior to every Thuban(and Bulldozer) that AMD has to offer.

You can PM it to me if you don't want to deal with ppl arguing with you about it, not saying that I will guarantee I get a 980, but it would definitely make the decision process easier.
It's sent, good thing I didn't lose it this time.

u guys r seriously..........
1100t take more voltage to oc..eats more power n is like a dead weight for gaming(2 cores extra r dead weight just eating power n not giving better results for gaming)......

seriously ask urself apply some logic......does gaming need more than 4 cores with lower frequency or a quad cpu with higher frequency...all the while op will be saving some bucks opting for x4 980 be ...... nuff said :/
MY point is that the x6 can hit high clocks easily too though, so at clock for clock I went 6 cores for the 2 extra cores. I am at 4244mhz 24/7 305x cpunb with 4 dimms at 1886mhz. How is that at a disadvantage in gaming, when playing crysis2 after the dx11/hires patch i see all cores getting action as just 2 before. Im just using coretemp gragh logger to verify though

edit:
i do it at 1.443v and llc on prime loads to 1.48-1.5v. I have good cooling but under gaming im at 38c max, prime 44-45c in 80F ambient temps

There's a lot of people on this forum who are kind of new to computers so whenever they see something newer come out and is more expensive they just assume its better rather than looking at the facts and numbers first and interpreting the results.

This is obviously the 980BE for almost everything. But hey "its a Thuban, MOAR COARS!"

Be careful with 1.5v+ and Thubans - under water it may not be a problem but the upper end voltage on these really should be closer to 1.47~, especially for anyone on air.

Also, what are your RAM timings?

Its a review on Guru3D which showed the difference in a few games between the 1100T and 980 and the 980 won, however overall I think the 1100T might help you more.

How high has anyone gotten a 960T and is there anymore x4 Thubans in the works? I only ask because ppl have been saying the mem controller is better in the Thuban than the Deneb.

I have a 970 Zosma and it will run at 4.1ghz on four cores and 4.0 on five cores with air cooling that isn't all that impressive
