Please advise on which 560 or 560 Ti... - Page 2

Thanks for the responses fellas!

I had heard of the Gigabyte SoC but didn't know it had stability issues. I will look into the MSI Hawk since I am looking for speed out of the box.

So it seems I should be good with 1GB. But aside from these games, if I wanted to maximize my future-proofing to get another couple years out of the card (I don't tend to upgrade as soon as I can't play the latest game at max) should I not go with 2GB? Or would you say clock speed is more important? I will be staying at 1900x1200.

By this I assume you think it would probably be prudent to make my decision maybe a month after MW3 and BF3 are out to look at some benchmarks before I decide? If so, that would not be a problem, I am patient I'll just turn down the settings with my current G92 for a while.

Thanks I just prefer Nvidia for the drivers and PhysX

Kinda disappointed for the GTX 460 section on that picture. How can you be certain if that is an accurate source of testing? I know true benchmarks will be out this week to find it's fullest of what performance the game will put! Trying so hard not to pull any triggers on video cards just yet until next week because i am saving money so i can get a great video card next week. Would a gtx 460 bottleneck on 1980x1080p at all? Just wondered. I don't have a 1080p right now but i do have a LCD TV sitting in my room and i never hardly watch cable on it anymore. Thought of switching but i may just get a monitor somewhere later down the road. Been using this current one for a long time and i'm due for a upgrade anyways. I need to sell this soon.

I did thought of gtx 460 in SLi but i'm more tempted to save up for just a GTX 570 or 580 or last resort is gtx 560ti in SLi.

I'd grab a 570. Worth a little more $$.

Well, on the plus side, according to that chart SLI scales extremely well in BF3.

GTX 580 = 50fps
GTX 580 SLI = 97 fps

That's a 94% increase. Applying that to the 460 result would give ~54 fps. Very playable.

That crossfire scaling is crazy though. Single 6970 = 45, CFX = 91... that's over 100% scaling.

I wouldn't believe those scales until there are ACTUAL benchmarks out because the game wasn't even out even the beta had nothing to the fullest extend of graphics. It was cut out. The final version will show it's true colors.
