AMD K9N2 SLI Platinum - Issues

Having a problem with this motherboard (well atleast i think its that)
So i'm having this issue were it wont boot to anything (no bios nothing) i noticed i was getting some error lights on the board looked them up and they mean the CPU isnt fitted correctly or is faulty. i checked the fittings its fine so i tried it in another pc and the CPU works fine. i was using a 4-pin for the CPU so i tried a bigger PSU with an 8-pin and its exactualy the same.

So really i want to know if the Motherboard is dead or fixable. thanks

Don'y pay attention to the my pc bit in sig its old

What colors led codes are you getting? Have you tried reseating the CPU?

Thanks for the reply. i'm getting 4 red leds. how do you mean reset? iv'e tried my ways wondering if you have some new ones? xD
(When i tried reseting i got no heat from the CPU (with no cooler) wondering if its no power going through the board to the CPU. everything else turns on)

You sure the CPU works? The motherboard manual specs says 4 red leds mean its a cpu problem. Its either your CPU is dead, or it needs to be re-seated. Open the latch of the CPU, take it out and then put it back in, make sure the pins fit in properly. Lock it in place and put back on the cooler and try again.

The CPU is fine as i said earlier it worked perfectly in another pc, and i've tried refitting it countless times

Are you running with 2 memory sticks? If so, take one out and have 1 stick placed next to the CPU and try booting it. What I am doing is, I am trying to track/locate where the problem is.

I've had this problem many times with the K9N2. If it crashed due to OC or if it loses power while asleep...

I always end up having to pull power from the board (pull the cord or switch of the psu). Then hold down the cmos reset while powering the PSU back on. once it tries to boot and comes on, i release the cmos reset and it will jump to the "bios is not optimized thing". but I can then load into the bios and load my saved Profile, save and exit and be good t go...

Out side of that i've also had issues wit the PCI-e video card to being recognized in the board as well.

This all started after i updated the bios a long time ago, and Im now using a nms.3a1 bios that fixes the fan speed issues on the one board fan headers.

@MadGoat i've had that issue with a pc before and that was the first thing i tried. i still have the other one that is doing it and for some reason the CMOS reset trick stopped working. its an ASUS P5KPL-AM EPL. i kinda gave up on that though.

Hve you tried testing it out of the case? If no go, then I would assume the board dead then.
