I'm glad you got a 'Flawless' one. So you had no trouble getting your power supply installed fan down, didn't have to bend your mobo, all the screws are are easy to turn and your hard drive cages slid right out easily and aren't scratched or bent?

I must say, while I haven't gone through it with a fine comb, I haven't had any problems with my 500r, including mounting my TX650M fan down. When tightening in my motherboard I didn't have to bend it in, and my hard drive cages are fine, I only know because I pulled out the top one as I didn't need it in there and wanted some extra room for air flow. You must have just got the short end of the stick and got a few bad ones, even though the fact that you got 4 bad ones does make that hard to believe there is good ones for you. Overall I must say that I am very happy with my case, so hopefully the guys at Corsair can get you looked after as I am sure that you would be very pleased with this case!

Hello, I came across this thread because I just purchased a black 500r from the Fairfax, VA Microcenter and I am having some of the exact same issues. The main one that is causing me to return this case is the fact that the entire case wobbles from side to side like an uneven table. I have placed the case on every surface possible, all very flat and it is clear the issue is with the case. I own a 400r that seems all around much sturdier than the 500r. Also, as mothman described, removing the top hard drive cage was very difficult and completely scratched up both hdd cages. I also noticed a change in the rigidity of the case after removing it. Also, I noticed my top grill didn't have the added dust filter that is visible and described in all the reviews I have watched, I am not sure why. I did not have any of these issues with the 400r, although neither case came with the screws I need to mount additional fans and it has been well over a month and I have still not received anything, though I have given my shipping address.

I would like to say that I love Corsair products and own two power supplies and two sets of RAM because I have been so pleased. The 400r was a joy to work with (I appreciate your use of internal usb 3.0 headers and the cable managment at this price point) but I really can't chance getting another 500r like this as I simply don't have the time or gas money to drive to the store. I'm glad I didn't purchase it off of NCIX as they would have made me pay for return shipping. This is why quality control is a real issue with things as big and bulky as cases. I hope that Corsair will look into these issues and not simply brush them off.

Hey Dakosquash,

I'm sorry you found the same issues with a 'Microcenter' 500R, but I'm glad someone else can back me up on the issues. As others claim to have 'Issue Free' 500R's, I can't believe the four I went through were just bad luck. I don't live right next to the Microcenter either and spent considerable time, effort and gas trying to get a suitable 500R.
Anyway thanks for posting your experience Rep+1 Oh also for future reference, only the White 500R has the filter on the top mesh panel. Corsair says it's aesthetic reasons.

I got mine in microcenter in New York. My motherboard tray is fine. Never had an issue with it. I do have a problem with my front panel headers. I got them all in the right spot, but no matter where I plug the +/- led connectors, they will either cause a short, or just not work properly. By this I mean they don't turn off the white LED's. I had them connected the same when I had a 400r and they worked perfectly. Also, my hx750 fit fine, but 2 of the screws don't line up horizontally. I switched to the 500r from the 400r because the 400r, while "problem free" for me felt a bit flimsy (the side panels). The 500r feels like it's side panels are twice as thick as the 400r and they slide on and off easier than every case I've owned except my Raven02E. The 400r was very tough to get the doors on/off.

I bought mine from Amazon and didn't realize mine was wobbly until it was all assembled, along with this the PS holes did not line up, I bought from corsair because of their reputation, now it is all assembled and I am really quite upset because it took me forever to get this together and I don't want to take apart, plus the hassle of return to amazon. This on top of not getting my x bracket in my H100 from NCIX. I hope my memory holds on and at least one Corsair part hangs on for me. I have bought Corsair in the past and have trusted them which is why I could buy online. If this is the quality control they have now that they are branching out I can no longer reccommend them to my friends and that is a sad day.

I bought one for my cousin from Amazon as soon as it came in stock. I'm guessing most likely the first batch. Very disappointed with this case as well. Don't really have the time to take it apart and ship it back so he'll just have to deal with it. What sucks even more is that I missed the postmark date on the $10 rebate but that is my fault for being lazy. Here are some of my issues:

1. PSU holes didn't line up correctly with their own branded power supply (HX series). I had to put excessive force on the PSU and screw it at angle.
2. Warped motherboard issue. Took some bending to screw it in.
3. Missing the proprietary screws to mount the fans. Also, are the motherboard screws suppose to have ridges?
4. HD cages getting scratched up when removing.

I haven't checked up on the wobbling but I wouldn't be surprised if that occurred as well. I definitely won't be buying any first batch Corsair products again. Better off waiting a couple of months in case there are quality issues just like this for example!

I actually went with the 400r, and haven't had any issues with it. I am like you though in that any little thing would have really really bothered me. But it sits perfectly level, and all the mounting holes lined up, with no flexing of the motherboard. Sucks you have had so many issues, I have been impressed with Corsairs products/support thus far. Can't blame you for wanting to go another route, I see your sig says you have a Lian Li....have you been really happy with that one? (always like to keep tabs on top notch products)

It's amazing to me how much improvement they had to make after the first batch...seems like testing could have caught this.
