I do have to agree with OP. I love my mATX build, but I cannot do Crossfire/SLI unless I manage to get a single slot solution which are not that easy or cheap to find. I am not really trying to do dual GPU anyways, but it would be nice to find more boards with a layout like the Gene-Z that lets you use 2 dual slot GPUs.

I do too. In fact, I hate you for it. My self control is struggling enough as it is. frown.gif

As I said, plenty of people are stacking non-reference cooled GPUs in various sized rigs without issue. Long story short, mATX SLI setups with quality parts and smart airflow work just fine. thumb.gif

Yep. Just need the proper airflow. For intake: 2 120mm Fractals in the front, 2 YL's up top. Exhaust is the half height scythe in the back and a 140mm Fractal in the side panel. Top card gets in the high 70s, bottom card in the high 60s. Only games I've played since the new build has been Civ V, Tribes Ascend, BF3 Beta, and STALKER CoP. The noise level has only been intrusive during BF3, though nothing my headphones couldn't drown out.

Michalius, BBEG:

I asked this in the TJ08-E thread, but thought I would get a second opinion just in case. I am planning to SLI my MSI 580 Lightning Extreme in the future, but am afraid that it would be a problem in the TJ08-E. Since you both were talking about SLI in mATX cases and have experience there, would the above be OK?

The previous response I got was that the air from the 180mm fan in the TJ08E would not reach the top card...which seems pretty valid if you see pics of the TJ08E.

(I plan to get an Asus Maximus Gene Z if I go the TJ08E route.)

That Fractal looks great but honestly those cases might as well not be called mATX if you're interested in moving them around often. 20 lb. weight and dimensions of 19 x 8 x 15 is small midtower territory.

I agree. The Fractal Minis are definitely not SFF -- they are barely smaller than my Antec Three Hundred was.

SLI or CrossFireX in a SUGO, TJ08, V35X, V600F, A04 et al is problematic compared to "non-SFF" mATX cases.

But I suppose those non-SFFs mATX like the Fractal Mini and Dragon Slayer are where these setups work well.

It's a lot handier than moving around a 600T. There's always varying degrees of size, and the Fractal Arc is certainly in the smaller portion of "enthusiast" cases.

Sli in an mATX case makes more sense than a single card in a full tower (unless you like wasted space).

I guess it must flip-flop. I've seen it a couple times with free shipping. Heck, I think I picked up mine (bought just to check it out) for around $55 using a coupon code and with free shipping.
