Answering your questions first,

1. The device manager does list the 8800gt with the yellow exclamation point next to it.
2. The automatic driver update the 8800 goes through when you first plug it in did go smoothly, it is just that it is not recognized in the phyx options menu.

Another update.

Did your diagnostics, and here are results

Uninstalled drivers, shut down, removed 570.
booted, updated drivers, restarted
It appears that the drivers are not registering with the card. The drivers install, but the card does not adjust to my native resolution, and instead I am now getting red lines all over screen.
Uninstall drivers.
Move to slot one.
boot, reinstall, reboot.
Same problem.

My thoughts, card is probably shot, all of a sudden. What a shame, working last week, and dead in my new system :/ Or am I jumping the gun?
