Either the SA or the D14. I think it's honestly personal preference, both seem quite capable.

With respect to the stock fans on either the SA or the D14, why would you want to replace them. Both come with high quality, quiet fans that are desirable in their own right.

Admittedly, both brands of fans leave something to be desired aesthetically, but functionally, both are quite good.

Well I had the Copper TRUE, so it was tons better. I believe I found it to be an 8-10c improvement. I cannot comment on the other TRUE's though. The Copper TRUE is usually on pace with the top notch coolers. The Copper TRUE did weigh 4.5lbs though.

The SA does come with better fans IMO. I've actually swapped my D14's fans to TY-140s because they are quieter than the Noctua counterparts.

But yes, both coolers perform similarly. I'd recommend either one based on price/aesthetic preference.

Wow, that's impressive. I had a Hyper 212+ before my D14 and the D14 is about 10C better.

Could the 2C difference shorten the life of the CPU by a small (really small) amount of time or something like half a year? On some charts, I've seen the Venomous X perform 1-2C behind the two. Right now my money's on the D14. IMO it looks better and IIRC not as tall.

Edit: and there's more heatpipes.

I would go D14 because the mounting system is just ingenious and simple. The fans are also quiet and effective.

The Noctua NH-D14, and you get the mounting kits for future sockets free of charge.

If you think, you won't be upgrading for several years, then go with the Silver Arrow.
