Advice on Sandybridge build.

Thread Starter
Since Bulldozer went the way of the dodo bird, i decided to do a SB build.

or if you guys can make better and more capable system for $1,100 max, then i would be happy!

(No monitor or OS)

here is what i came up with, and idea on how i can lower cost? or maybe tell me what better part selection would be?)

Idealy i would like a GTX 570 + i5 2500k with a SSD fr about this price.

My sweet spot in price is about $1,050. but i cant budge much past it. and would like below $1,000 flat,

Personally i don't think there is room for improvment.. but hey! thats why im here.

so help me get this rolling?

(sorry if i come off as winey or demanding or anything else offensive)

If you replace the V6 GT with a Corsair A70, you'll save ~$20 AND get a better cooler.

My only problem with it is that PSU. I just don't trust Rosewill enough for power supplies and I don't know what OEM they're using. Just don't skimp on the power supply. Most cheapo power supplies are incredibly over-rated (which would be fine since a single 570+2500k won't come anywhere close to 650W) and their actual performance is very sketchy. The things that actually matter like voltage regulation and ripple, the things that actually damage your other components, are sometimes lacking in even name-brand PSUs. OCN has a good list of quality PSUs here.

Also, a bump in four minutes is pointless. Give it at least a day before bumping.

Get 8 GB. It's only around 10-20$ more And the A70 is way better for the price.

8GB for gaming isn't needed.

Will that extra $20 justify the performance gains for my usuage?

no it wont :/

4GB is more then needed for gaming.
