All I can say is, more money = more game.

You love your 955 and i respect that but compared to a 2500K the PII X4 performs like a dual core.

It performs even worse.

That's because you've got a single 5770...

Just because YOU don't have the GPU power to bottleneck a Ph II 965 doesn't mean that Phenom II is good. It's simply the best option for someone who is on an extremely limited budget and can't afford a 2500K.

Now if Intel had released a statement about raising prices then I would be mad.

I have a feeling that the price increase is due to the increased demand for these Intel processors. There were a lot of people who were waiting to do their computer build until the benchmarks for the AMD FX processors were released. So, supply/demand anyone?

Well, Intel retailers can keep their Intel chips because my PII 965 still hangs with the best of them in games and that's all I care about for now...Playing BF3 put me at ease knowing my PC is still more than capable of playing the newest demanding games.

While Intel is not raising prices (retailers in Europe are), we can see what happens when there is a huge demand.

Reminds me of 2005 when AMD CPU prices were on the rise, and AMD bested Intel. It is a 2-way street.
