Try reading the article, the comments, looking up NewEgg prices, etc, etc, etc.

I don't know why people comment without looking at the facts first.

The title says Intel RETAILERS raise prices, and so far, this only applies to some European retailers.

Intel's price list hasn't changed.

not that I disagree on the IB pricing, but how did you figured that IB are cheaper to produce ?

Not surprisingly, the Ivy Bridge SKU comes 25% smaller that its second generation Core counterpart, which should lead to lower heat output and reduced manufacturing costs as Intel will be able to packs more chips into a wafer the same size.

I'm quite surprised by this, especially given the fact that for retail prices the dollar sign usually gets swapped with an euro sign, leading to people over here massively overpaying for both electronics and video games.

Gotta love sensationalist journalism...

AMD lists an MSRP and retailers list for above that, then lower prices and the headline is "AMD cuts FX prices cause BD sux" and now retailers are artificially and underhandedly ripping off customers by raising prices on Intel CPU's and the headlines are "Intel is ripping people off with higher prices."

Geez, so retailers do the dirty stuff and AMD and Intel get the blame... Great plan really... These retailers can rip off their customers left and right and blame others, win-win for them I guess...

For once I agree with you. LOL

Though the article does make it clear that it's Intel Retailers the ones raisin prices. People read it as Intel Raise CPU prices.
