Mate I have the asus reference gtx 570 factory OC to 742mhz, I pushed it to 950mhz with 2200mhz memory, it rips into it. Runs crysis 1 all very high except AA, 50+avg fps high 70fps to low 40s fps.
F1 2011 @ x8CSAA ultra, avg 62fps with max 100fps.
All at @1080P.

Worth the buy, I'm just waiting for the high end cards to arrive next year, for the new range.

Hope it makes you abit happy in a sense that you've now purchased a great card, bang for your buck so to speak!

Esp with the choice, msi and their cooling are unbelievable by some reviewers.

So cheers to that! Enjoy!

If you are waiting for maxwell then yeah, get the 570, and SLi when you get a bit more cash, then go nuts with maxwell.

It's an extra 32 cores and quarter gig of memory. The memory issue with the 570 could potentially hurt it if you want to run with high AA.

I would get a 580. As you can see I already have two and am loving it. Runs TW2 like a champ with all settings ultra and ubersampling, obliterates it.

A GTX 570 @865Mhz core runs same performance of a stock clock GTX 580 @772Mhz core.

Is it worth it? Up to you.

I have a 13% over clock from that core @875 24/7 at stock voltage, you'd have to get the GTX 570 @965 core to match performance of that mild 13% GTX 580 over clock. (That will be tough).

Looking down the road it will be easier for you to SLI a second GTX 570 over another GTX 580 logically.

But your right about two GTX 570's holding you over till Maxwell. So that point is moot.

Waiting until Maxwell instead might be a good thing. I've found first run fabrication chips with smaller die to be a bumpy road at first release. In the past it's taken them a second run at it with some redesign to get it right for both camps.

Good luck with which ever you decide. Keep us updated when you pull the trigger. Welcome to OCN Snieprumm.

At stock clock comparison, the real life performance gains of the 580 vs the 570 don't justify its extra $150+ pricetag IMO....

Since I'm getting about stock 580 performance on a overclocked gtx470...I'd say not worth it, go for the 570, as you could always OC it.

I can never understand these arguments... What if the guy bought a 580 and OC'd it... it would MASSIVELY faster than your 470... no???

OP... buy 4x 580's.... it'll benchmark really well!!!!
