In all likelihood these are chips from the center of the wafers and should overclock to 5ghz on low volts.

think its worth the extra 300mhz or so, for a little less heat, i might just wait for ivy bridge, mean the cheapest ivy is like $600 correct? so might just wait.

Ivy Bridge chips should be around the same prices as sandy bridge chips. You have a 2600K at 4.8Ghz. Not worth the money for the 2700K.

haha read my sig! i have 2 360 rads, a mcp 35x pump, rasa waterblock, and a 6990 in the loop, but it just cant do 5ghz, at 1.5v, its just too hot, however my one rad, is on the back of my comp right against it, i need to buy a rad support I, think that will help with temps alot?

Are you blowing air through the case through the rad? Could always try reversing the fans and have cool outside air blow through the rad.

I'm like the guy above me. Trying to maintain this top end PC. Come next paycheck, the 2700K is going into a shopping cart.

mean, if i can sell my 2600k for around $280, id gladly would buy the 2700k most likley if it can do 5ghz+ below 1.45v.

If you are trying to get the best water cooling possible I recommend two things:

1.) When dealing with the concept of heat dissipation and thermal conductivity, you CAN'T argue with physics. Buy a water block that is made of the most thermally conductive metal possible- That would be silver. Silver is the most electrically and thermally conductive metal on earth. If you want the most efficient heat dissipation possible, go with a silver waterblock.

Here is Silver tubing if you want to go all out:

2.) Try throwing a couple delta fans on your radiator.
Assuming you have room for a 120mmx38mm fan rated for 252 CFM:

(If you don't have room for 120mmx38mm fan then there's the standard
120mmx25mm option rated for 150 CFM):

Here's about the only variable fan controller on the market that can handle the 252CFM 48W fan:

(It's a 6 channel/50W sliding controller.)
