For Thuban CPUs, Can disabling cores provide a more stable overclock?

Can it really help with temp stability and a higher overclock if you disable two cores on a x6 Thuban?

Some people also say that disabling some cores helps with certain games because they don't use all of them but how the heck does that make sense? I mean won't games automatically use the cores they need and leave the rest alone, so why bother disabling the other cores again?

It will lower the temps by turning off 2 cores but to be honest your better off just keeping all 6 enabled and finding that perfect voltage/clock speed for best speed and performance
