Gaming Monitor 23-24"

Thread Starter
Hey guys, long time reader first time poster here, hope you can help.

I've read through the other posts and nothing I could find really helped with what I'm looking for.

As the title states, I'm looking for a 23-24" gaming monitor. I currently have an LG-IPS231 and it's great for colours and photo-editing/drawing, but I would like a second monitor that is better suited to playing games, including bf3 and other competitive titles, with minimal lag.

I live in the UK and my budget is around £200, although I am willing to stretch to something a bit more pricey if it's worth it.

So something that performs well with games, 23-24", around £200.

Thanks in advance,

Voidy

EDIT: maybe some extra things, I'd like DVI connections but HDMI would be ok, 1080p

my advice would be try to see if you could find a 1920x1200 monitor

I find them much better than 1920x1080

especially when browsing the net, because of the extra pixels on the top and bottom

I can't imagine people even noticing 60px up top and bottom, especially at that high of a resolution.

Ontopic, I was looking at getting a Samsung S23A750. I don't know how much these are in the UK, but they sure look like they'd do the trick.

Man please don't invite this debate again. You will unknownly throw the whole thread off the OP's intention.

On topic If you can squeeze more out of your budget I say grab a 120hz monitor.

Thanks so far guys!

Using AMD I don't need the extra pixels, in my experience they have run better at lower resolutions. Plus for web browsing my LG IPS231 is the swivel one so I can turn it portrait.

I have found the samsung for £319 so far which is a bit much.

So if I push the budget a little what monitors do you recommend?
I've looked at:

Asus VG236HE
Benq XL2410T

Very open to suggestions!

Asus VG236HE is the best "value for money" gaming monitor out there.

Those both look great. I'd snap one up myself if they had Display Port.

Looks like I have made a decision then!

Thanks for the help guys, I might try to put together a monitor guide for some people in my situation once this one turns up. I've certainly taken in more monitor information than one person needs to know!
