H67 with dual monitors

Thread Starter
Just want to see who out there is running dual monitors off a H67 MB. Specifically the 2500k with the HD 3000 IGP. I am going to build a mITX box for someone that will be using dual monitors for professional work, so I was wondering how reliable that set up is. No gaming or anything too intensive GPU wise besides running 2 @ 1080p.

professional work, but not gaming or gpu intensive? Basic office work shouldnt have a problem. dont expect to be using photoshop/cad though.

I mean professional as in using it for work. He is self employed and works out of home. The tasks he does are not that demanding on the GPU. Which is why I was looking at integrated vs PCI GPU to save money.

I heard of some issues getting the OS to boot with two monitors plugged in with mixed results on a solution, and was wondering if this had been adressed already, or if there were any other issues people were aware of.

Why are you pairing a 2500k with an H67 board though?

Seriously, if you can't take advantage of the unlocked multiplier you might as well go with an i3-2100 or something. This is basic office work, right?

They are the same price as the non k versions here most of the time. As well as they put the HD3000 in the k versions where the non k,s have the HD2000 IGP. I know it seems backwards but maybe they did this due to the increased throughput the chip has.

Hopefully Ivy puts some fast GPU's in the lower end chips where it is more likely to be used.

Edit: He keeps computers for like 4-6 years, so I wanted to make sure there is enough power to be able to multitask for a while. It will be in a mITX case to save space so using the IGP leaves the PCI slot open for future upgrades if needed.

It will be regular office work with some external hardware addons that will also need to be addressed for compatibility since they are running off a parallel port right now.
