i7 2700k benchmarks leaked - Page 4

Benchmarks are not interesting at all. This is just a 2600K with 100MHz more.

The only interesting thing about the 2700K is how it will overclock in general when compared to the 2500K and 2600K. And how the pricing compares after a while.

The 930 overclocks no better than the 920, I expect this chip to overclock no better overall than a 2500/2600k. This chip will be completely useless for anyone on ocn. Now if your a run of the mill consumer with no interest in overclocking this chip will be epic and the fastest sandybridge money can buy.

If not overclocking it is 100MHz faster LOL!

Even though there is only 100MHz difference between the 2500K and the 2600K, they are still separated in the ammount of Cache and that the 2500K is lacking HT.

The 2600K VS the 2700K is only separated by 100MHz

Supposedly there was talk that the 2700K is a binned version of the 2600K. So we should expect overall lower voltages for the same overclocks and in some cases higher max multipliers.

Aint worth the price to upgrade from a 2500K or 2600K though.

And second of all look at the board that they used in the review. It does look like a PoS. So it's completely possible that the vdroop is this ridiculous.

While I have no real world data on that motherboard it just doesn't look very promising for clean power to the CPU.
I was merely replying to his sarcy comment here...

I know you were just replying to his comment but trust me, a comment like that will result in a possible infraction. I've gotten a few because of posts like yours that were in defense of someone else's disrespectful post towards me.

You're better off not bothering. The infraction system here seems to be prone to be abuse by posters that can't handle a snide reply to their own rude comments.

EXACTLY!!!!

The difference between the 2600K and the 2700 is negligable, and the ONLY reason this processor has been released, is to put a rubber stamp on "let's kill AMD chips"

The only thing that the release of the 2700 chip has established, is that AMD will no longer be a contender in the 'chip wars', and intel will now have a free reign to charge whatever they want for processors! You think I'm wrong...? We'll see!!!
The US has intense anti-trust laws, you won't see them price gouging if they want to stay as a single company. They are forced by law to price reasonably so that there can be competition from smaller businesses.

from what i've heard the 2700k will be priced at the current 2600k price point and the 2600k will be dropped. Just speculation though so who knows.
