Asus Xonar DS, no 5.1 surround?

Thread Starter
Hello,

I tried researching for a pci slot sound card to replace my Audigy2 ZS that was going bad. So I purchased the Asus Xonar DS.

The sound does have better clarity, but I also have 5.1 Logitech analog setup. On my Audigy2 ZS, I could set it up so I could watch a youtube video and hear it from all my speakers. However, when I plugged it in my Asus Xonar DS, all I could hear is the front two speakers. I played Far Cry 2, and I do hear the sound from my rear speakers.

Here's what I tried

1) Enable & disablign Hi-Fi
2) Changed environment, but had this wierd echo affect.
3) Playing around with the audio channels and sample rates.

Any other suggestions?

Try changing your output to 5.1 speakers and to 2 channels. That works for me on my xonar dg with logitech z5300-e. It could also just be the specific youtube video you were watching as well.

Man i have the same problem.I had set 6 channel and 5.1 for gaming and for music you must change fot stereo speaker fill 2 channel and 5.1 but for games 6 channel and 5.1
The problem is that we must change all the time the setting if you play games or listen music we don't have standart setttings and that's problem.

Music stereo play all speakers.2 channel and 5.1 output
Games 6 channel and 5.1 output
if you watch Movies leave it like music settings if don't support 5.1
