hi all,

planning to set up an ADSL line at home.... Will a 384 line be sufficient to play games online?

Im not sure if the PS3 will accept that.
It needs a broadband connection and I think 512 is the lowest true broadband connection speed.

Either way, the answer is no.
You want AT LEAST 3/1, and 3/1 is not going to do much more but get you killed.
Anything less than 5 Meg down and 1.5 Meg up and I wouldnt waste your time trying.

It will definitley be worth it.
My friends on 5 Meg lines rage about lag all the time, but they have fun and do well anyway.

If you can afford a 7-10 meg line you will be perfect.

If find the PS3 is less affected by lag than Xbox, (This coming from an xbox fan boy) I have a terrible 1 - 4mb down (4 is on a really good day) and I've never experienced lag on my ps3, considering I don't play it as much, but I do often get serious lag when the internets having a bad day on the xbox. If you get a stable 5meg then you'll be fine imo.

I think this is because the PS3 has somthing that makes your router prioritise it via QoS (provided your router supports it obviously).
