7600GS might be broken

Hey guys,

I have an old computer with a 7600GS AGP card that my little brother uses for gaming (stuff like COD4, Battlefield 2 and some newer titles with non-DX10 requirements).

The other day the computer wouldn't start and gave a BSOD, Graphics driver loading timed out. Then there were vertical line artifacts in the BIOS and startup logo. Tried reseating the card, checking the power connector etc. and couldn't resolve.

Removed heatsink, paste etc. and baked it for 10 minutes at 140C. After that, it booted without artifacts but now instead of a BSOD it just stays on an indefinite black screen after loading. And ideas?

Pretty much can't get hold of an AGP card for an affordable price that comes even close to this (I live in South Africa BTW) so if I can't get this card working it's pretty much overs for his PC.

You wouldn't guess but between yesterday afternoon and this afternoon it's started to work again. Booted up now and it works :/ Computers are strange creatures.
