New Nvidia driver 285.62 - Page 3

Blows my mind that AMD and Nvidia put so much effort into out doing each other with hardware amd pushing the envelope with ever more powerful hardware.... but making functional, bug free drivers that people don't have to be afraid to install seems to just fall by the wayside as an irrelevant part of business and performance.

I've been running 285.62 for 4-5 hours with no issues so far. My 590 is running 1-2 degrees warmer at each GPU but the game performance seems slightly better. The beta was definitely a lot less taxing on the card.

Reset your CMOS and try and boot into safe mode. Reinstall your previous drivers.

An hour is way too long, takes a couple of mins. Did you opt of custom install with clean install?

If it's doing this in Windows, it's fairly normal.

If during gaming, go into nvidia control panel and change power setting from adaptive > prefer maximum performance.

In theory this is meant to force full 3D clocks whilst a 3D application is being used.

Been reading on anandtech and nvidia forums, and a lot of people are having problems with this one so I'm avoiding it.
well I'm up and running now. after trying to boot several times it eventually found its way into windows. the problem, windows updates! it had tried installing a handful of fresh ones as the drivers were being installed and crashed. haven't tried any games but the system seems stable. panic over.
