Sabertooth990FX OC and memory problems

Think I previously posted this in the wrong place, so I'll try here. Please delete if It's causing trouble!

Hey guys, you've all really helped me out with my monitor, but now I'm confused about something a bit more internal.

I have the 1100T BE running at 3.3 with 16GB of vengeance ram running at 1333.

I am a newbie to this game.

My first question is, shouldn't the RAM be running at 1600? I've read something about the memory controller not being capable?

My second question is, should I be running the components at optimal? over clocking the cpu etc.

In my first BIOS fiddle, I had the cpu running at 3.8 from the OCTuner, but the memory dropped to 1240ish. That is all I can tell you.

Thank you,

Voidy

Edit: It seems no matter what I do now, it just wants to stay at 3.84GHz

First the Sabertooth supports up to 2133 for ram the reason that the ram is running at 1333 is that Corsair's stated ram speed is set as an XMP. So to run at the stated frequency you have to go into the bios and find advanced settings then go to Aitweaker and in the drop down for overclock mode select D.O.C.P. then a new box will show up under that titled Ram Profile. In this drop down you can find the setting for 1600 which should be the one with slightly different timings and a listed voltage. Second it is up to you weather or not to OC your parts The Sabertooth is a good board for that but it takes a little tuning.

Hey DPS1, thanks for the fast response. I selected the d.o.c.p menu and evreything changed by itself, the cpu overclocked to 3.7GHZ and the memory went to 1600mhz. It seems to be working quite nicely as well. Such a simple resolve I wish I knew 6 hours ago!

Very much appreciated.
