Even though it did seem to go longer in Prime95 at certain voltage levels using offset I still ended up getting up to voltage levels where I was not comfortable with the heat. I ended up rolling it back to 4.5 GHz for now and will work on my RAM and GPU overclock now.

This is a little disappointing, I was hoping to get closer to the 5 GHz range. Do you think with a RASA 240 I could get this chip to 5 GHz? I did expect to do a little better with the H70, but maybe it's time for a full water loop.

From what I've seen here on OCN, this is relatively normal for the H70.

There are a couple members in the Sandy Stable Club that have H70's at 1.4v or just under it that never go above 80c so I had my hopes up.

Is my chip not the best overclocker? Seems like most people could get 4.7 GHz with less than 1.4v.

Looks like I managed to get 4.7 GHz stable by lowering the LLC to High with offset + .075. Voltage is a little more all over the place though ranging from 1.376 to 1.392v. However it made it 10 hrs Prime 95 Blend. The max temps shown here seem a little high, but most times I was checking on it temps were only in the high 70's. Anyone think I can squeeze anything more out of this overclock?

Your temps peaked at 87, which means, if your system is like mine, load while gaming etc is probably going to be 15C different, low-mid 70's. I'd say you're all the way there unless or until you get better cooling.

I will note that I changed from a 2500K to a 2600K on Friday, and it's much hotter at load - 12-13C, which I should have expected but didn't. Due to the extra cores + hyperthreading. I haven't done yet (and don't intend to, really) but disabling HT apparently lowers temps quite a bit. I'm OK running a little slower than my 2500K, with the extra cores + HT...I can't feel a 2-300MHz difference and I'm not going for any benching records

I was just playing Crysis 2 for a couple hours and the hottest core temp peaked at only 67c. I want HT on because I do things other than gaming. I'm happy with this overclock for now. Maybe this holiday I can get a RASA 240 kit and go for 5.0 GHz.
