EDIT 1:

Here's where I originally posted my results, they will be updated with re-runs of the same tests on my FX-8150 and I'll add 3DMark11 validations to the post as well.

Yes, the 6870 dose in fact report correctly on 3DMark11 scores. Have you read that whole thread and seen their posts at all? They showed their benches as proof and it read just right.

A Bart 6870 doesn't run on par with a Cayman 6950 though it comes close, yet alone even coming within 6970 scores. That's not possible one bit.

If you were right, then all OCN members have been giving wrong info for almost the past year....

We'd all have 6870's that run past 6950 performance for a lot less money. Fact is, somewhere your not understanding what's being said.

6870 is about 5-10 percent slower than a 560 Ti. If you upgrade, try to get at least a 25 percent or higher performance increase.

You asked me to show my results, that's what I'm doing. Plain and simple. I posted the results I achieved using a single 6870, single 6970, and dual 6970. I'll run them all again on my FX-8150 and re-post again.

All I know is that from my experience, a 6870 overclocked to 1000/1100 with a tad bit extra voltage does better than a stock 6970 when nothing else in the system changes. So the only explanation is that my 955 @ 3.6 GHz is somehow bottlenecking a single 6970 and choking it, or I have some really crappy performing 6970's.
