Note: 2xAA and 4xAA, make no noticeable difference. SSAO and HBAO make no real difference you'd see in gameplay like some other games. This is just marketing to an absolute extreme. You don't need SLI.

This has me at a constant 60 FPS, 70+ with vsync off and I do the get occasional dip into the 50's. But with a mild overclock of 880/core and 1760/shader, I see nothing noticeable anymore.

Here is what I'm running-

QFT. Anyone who goes out and spends several HUNDRED dollars instead of just tweaking the settings is a complete idiot. The game basically takes 100% more power in order to look 10% better.

You just described what the OCN is all about.

How the hell can you call spending money on computer parts an "investment". Either stupid or trolling.

Why so much hate on here for people who can afford top of the line rigs. Don't be so jelly. I'm not an idiot for assembling my Sig rig; I bought exactly what I wanted to and for my own reasons....

OCN has become a huge circle jerk

No, it's mostly aimed toward people who actually went out and bought a second 580 after months of hype from dice that this would require multi-gpus in order to see it 100%. Yet, everyone is seeing otherwise and there are a bunch of fake benchmarks showing literally 30's and 20's for single gpu set-ups running it maxed out.

If you enjoy your sig rig, fine by me. But by no means did DICE or Nvidia have to lie and market BF3 the way they did for extra money.

If you're referring to those two posts, then I don't think they were calling people with those parts "idiots" for buying them.. They were more targeted at very specific reasons for buying parts.

Referring to a computer part as an "investment" is misguided at best since their value generally degrades pretty quickly. The other post was also referring to people who go out months in advance and spend hundreds of dollars to run a game before reviews were even out.

There's plenty of good reason to run sli 580's, but running one game at 1080p on a single monitor because some one said that's what it would take before benchmarks even hit is not one of them.

Not necessarily. OCN is made up of two main groups:
1. Those who can afford the highest end hardware (i.e. money is not a problem in that area) and upgrade pretty often
2. Those who try to squeeze as much performance as they can from a tight(er) budget and will play with tweaks to ensure that the rig lasts 2+ years as "high end".

Exactly. Though I'll never buy 2 GTX580's (cos I'm too poor for that and can't justify the purchase ), I see no reason in bashing those who do. I've been on the side of bashing people who spend their money on the parts they want before. And frankly, I was just being naiive and stupid in those days.

OCN = max performance. Achieve it either by overclocking your rig on LN2 or stuffing two 990x's on an SR2 board, we'll appreciate either way.
