ASUS P8P67 DELUXE vs ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3

Thread Starter
I'm currently comparing these two mobos:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813131701
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813157265
Hoping to a run a 2500k at a decent OC with an H100, and wondering if the ASUS board will really offer better performance for that $30 more. They both offer USB 3.0 front panel headers, and are Crossfire compatible - which are my primary criteria. I'm also hoping to run 2 HD's in RAID1, and the ASUS offers those in SATA2 form, which is good enough for me. I also don't care about on-board bluetooth, as I have a USB dongle, and I don't really see much benefit to the custom BIOS organization for both boards.

Input would be greatly appreciated!

The ASUS one is a safer bet, since there are alot more people buying that ASUS board, and few reports of any problems VS the ASRock boards. Not that I'm saying that ASRock boards has any problems and are bad in any way.

If you're going to use AMD/ATI graphics cards with that red/black theme it would look ugly in that ASUS board though.

Because so many more people here on the OCN have ASUS boards VS ASRock boards. So they are well tested and proven to be solid boards.

But as I've also said, the ASRock boards might just be top-notch boards, but there are very few people to confirm that VS the ASUS ones.

My asrock has been solid. I'd certainly buy it again, stable at 5ghz no problems.

So, the safer bet is because their are more asus owners here who can give the support if problems come about?
I'm not disputing you and infact asus make's some top notch boards. Anything man-made has potential for break down as with asus or asrock.

Both boards will look good. My CM enforcer will have its red fan replaced with a blue one, and both 6850's have the windforce hsf that are blue - so no colour scheme conflict there. Still undecided, but I acknowledge that Asus is definitely more often used by OC members. And newegg numbers alone reflect this. Guess it's just a matter of choosing for myself.
