How to: Triple monitoring with Gigabyte 6950 1gb?

Thread Starter

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum.
I purchased components to build my new computer and I would like to add three monitors as main display (does 'eyefinity' stands for this kind of display?).

My question is how to plug them? My GPU has
1xDVI-D
1xDVI-I
1xHDMI
1xDisplayPort connector

The type of monitor I am planning to buy is this dell E2311H with DVI and VGA:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...045&Tpk=e2311h

As I only have 2 DVI ports (1xDVI-I and 1xDVI-D) on the graphics card, do I have to purchase a multiple DVI connector such as this one?

I would appreciate a cheaper solution if it exists.
In advance, thank you for your great help!

Additional question:
Is it possible to plug a TV as well? Is the graphics going to support the system?

I believe you will need to use:

1) one DVI port
2) the second DVI port or the HDMI port
3) DisplayPort > DVI using an active adapter

Ok I see yes, this makes sense. I didn't know there were cables doing DisplayPort to DVI.

Thank you

This is the adapter you need instead of the one in your link.

The one in your link MiniDP-DP > DP-VI > Monitor.
