SLI PSU Question

Thread Starter
Hey guys, short explanation why I am forced to SLI.I bought a GPU off this OC about a month ago it has been shipped 3 weeks ago, I still not have received. I bought a gtx 570 frozr 3. I bought it for BF 3.

I am sad now, not sure when the card will be here so I am forced to guy buy GTX 570 lightning from NCIX so I have a decent card to play the game day 1. My question is my PSU sufficient for two Gtx 570s?

Each of them draws approx 170w on stock clocks and two of them 340w. You can add a dedicated PhysX (not GTX580) on top of that if you want.

Nah, you don't need to. Check this out:

Guru3D.com was able to get their test system to pull 578W from the wall outlet when it had two 570s in SLI under full load (source). If their PSU were 85% efficient, then that means their system pulled about 490W from the PSU. However, Guru3D also recommends adding about 100-150W to account for the rest of the system which brings us to an absolute maximum of 590W to 640W. Or we can round it to 600-650W if you want.

Therefore, even a PSU that can continuously deliver 650W is enough. Your PSU is a high quality 750W unit that's capable of continuously delivering 750W, so you're good to go!
