They are lower binned and have a hard time overclocking. This is from several review sites and owners of the kits.

I'd say get the ripjaws series, Frommy experience the Sniper series is nothing more than a "Re-Branded" set of G.Skill Value series with a cool heatspreader slapped on them, plus the don't Overclock or handle user set timings very well.
I have ordered two kits of 1333Mhz Sniper series and a kit of 1866Mhz and they all have problems with user set timings and do not overclock well.
My friend has two kits of G.Skill ripjaws in his computer and they easily outperform my sniper series by a good bit.
This seems like a small issue, the same that can happen with any RAM. I remember back in the day having some DM9GH RAM that couldn't overclock worth a crap and having some low quality generic crap that OC'd better. It's more luck of the draw. I have seen more than enough reviews and people with the Snipers who had excellent performance from the RAM.
The same goes for the Ripjaws, I have seen a ton of positive reviews for them. Again, I stress with going with the RAM you like more.
