GTX570 vs AMD6970 - Page 3

From my expierence Nvidia drivers have always been a lot more stable and better from a performance perspective.

I've had a 4890,4870X2,9600GT,GTX480,GTX 580 and a 6970 (which was awful due to VTX3D)

I'm getting a second 6970 purely because for me it's the price/perfomance king.

Huh? Did you look at those results???? So. You are saying that the 580 = 570 then, since the 580 =6970 in those.

It's BF3. Benchmarks were posted yesterday. Latest drivers on both side. 6970 = 570 is a myth based on old benchmarks.

At 1440X900, you DON'T need a 580, a 6970 or a 570.
They're pretty much equal....Just wait until the other reputable websites like Xbitlabs, guru3d, and Toms' release performance benches for this game. I'd be willing to bet the results will be somewhat different. HardOCP favors AMD cards, there is no secret about that....6970 does not equal 580....Stop spreading fan boy benchmarks and slanted test with tessellation turned off in order to get the results you want.....The 6970 and 570 trade blows back and forth at reference speed. When it comes to overclocking, a non-reference 570will easily outperform and overclock higher than the 6970... We all know you LOVE your 6970s, as you should, they're great cards.

I'd actually wait a bit til the new 560tis.come out and see what their price/performance is

The man is right. At that resolution, just buy a 6870 1GB/2GB and enjoy It's still somewhat overkill for majority of the games @ 1440x900 but there's nothing wrong with that

@ that resolution I'll definitely choose the 570 even for a 1080p monitor, but any thing higher than that I would get the 6970 !!

Why? Now if the reason is solely based on desire, fine but it's definitely not needed for that resolution. My 6870 1GB is running the majority of my games @ 1080p with ease. Now games like Crysis & Metro, I have to use a combination of high & medium settings and that barely diminishes the graphic appearance.
like ppl said, 6970 is better in most demanding games (BF3, Metro 2033, Crysis)...

580 > 6970 > 570 > 6950 > 560ti

That's already understood. So if a 6870 1GB can comfortably run the games you had mentioned @ 1080p (1980x1080) with a combination of high & med settings, running those same games @ 1440x900 at max should be a walk in the park with a 560ti or a 6870 1GB/2GB.

Thread Starter
Thanks all for the answers, you have convinced me to drop the lvl of Gpu. smile.gif I am now looking forward to buy a 6950. I will Be able maxing everything out, right?
My gameplay video with 4890 Oced to 950 mhz. I want to upgrade for dx11 and later games. Because it is getting kinda slover, sadly.
Oh, and another qustion. If i keep my 4890 could it work with 6950 somehow? Or it can only be done with nvidia for physix? If yes, would i get performance boost if i had only another 8x pci-e slot?
And is xfx model better than club 3d? Because xfx is more expensive.
