Well D5's and DDC's don't fail often, except for ware and tear after some years of usage. Though it does add some sort of security when you fold and aren't close or in the house to check up on it.

I was doing some testing with the fans, and sadly as much as I love them... my roomate doesn't. lol. My friend donated some Yate Loons to the project and we mounted them on the radiator.

In the spirit of OCN, I will be using the Bitspower Dual D5 top and a Swiftech MCP655 with the speed control. Unfortunately I probably have to order the parts after Christmas frown.gif Sorry to keep you guys waiting.

I believe Yate Loons are sleeve bearing? In that case, I think its not particularly advised to be mounting them horizontally. The lubrication used for sleeve bearing fans relies that they are upright and I think can cause issues if you mount it horizontally.

Check the following link for a list of all bearings:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_fan#Physical_characteristics

Basically, anything but Sleeve Bearing is fine for horizontal mounting. Although, even if you mount Sleeve Bearing fans horizontally, they will still last quite a long time. They may not perform as well though. The Wikipedia article outlines most of the important details regarding each bearing type.

Thanx, I'm going to do some research into what fans to use for my situation. On a sidenote I just ordered an AX1200 which should help me with the cable management in that aluminium box smile.gif

A suggestion for fans would be Phobya Nano-G 12 Silent Waterproof 1500rpm Multioption Fan. Im not partial to fans, but I am using 12 of these in my build. Luckally not at that price ^_^

Nice build BTW. I really suggest and hope you sleeve those fan ends, or even shorten them up. If you need help doing it, I can sure as hell re-end and sleeve them for you if you want.

Happy new years everybody!!
I ordered the rst of the parts I will need - an EK dual D5 top and an EK supreme HF
I am currently visiting my mum so I will take picks when i arrive.
But when I do take them... they won't be blurry!!!!! thanx to my new Canon IXUS 220 HS (PowerShot ELPH 300 HS in the US - why I don't know.)
450
I have also been thinking how I'm going to support that EVGA Hydro Copper 18 block in a tower. I'm pretty sure if I just mount the card it will snap. I've been looking for the support bar from the A70, because it looks like the A71F has holes to mount it, but have had no luck. Also, I bought the waterblock second hand - the previos owner said he used TIM on the memory, Is that the norm? I thought thermal pads were used. Will update when I'm back around my computer.
