I let the system leak test, and powered it on. Cheked the CPU temp in the BIOS - 24C. Ok, booted up, noticed some flickering. First thing I do is check GPU temps. GPU0 (as linux identifies it) is at 44C while GPU1 is at 109C. I nearly had a heart attack. I IMMEDIATELLY shut the system down. I let it cool for a bit and took out the GPU to reseat the block. I was scared to warp the PCB so I didn't tighten the screws very much. One of the sides was a bit further from the block than the other. I tightened it down and hoped it would work. got no video. I think I fried the card sad-smiley-002.gifsad-smiley-002.gif

So, I'm pretty sure I killed the card, now I'm at a crossroads, get another 9800GX2, or a 480, and a whole new waterblock. Poll started.

Sad to hear about your gpu. Learning this lesson from you, is there a way to set max gpu temps, so when it reaches 85'C it'll automatically turn off? Can you point me in the direction of those green tubes.

I don't think there's any way to do it from the BIOS, I'm sure there is a way to do it from the OS. My tubing is Promochill Green LRT:
