Thread Starter
I am need of new speakers and I am window shopping at the moment as I do not yet have the funds, I have a £300 budget and I was planning on getting a set of logitech Z-5500 but I found they weren't on the logitech website I think they have discontinued them so by the time I have the funds I don't think I will be able to get a pair. So what can buy that is as good or better? I need pc speakers that I can use on my Xbox like you can with the Z5500 through optical I also need them on my pc, I Don't want large studio or cabinet speakers. Any help would be appreciated rolleyes.gif

They are discontinued, their replacement is getting horrible reviews.

Try here: Amazon.co.uk: z5500

Or worst case scenario: Amazon.com: Used and New: Logitech Z-5500 THX-Certified 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System

Links are 404'ed. I know they are there but they might not be when I am able to buy speakers so I'm trying to find something of similar quality or better redface.gif

Consider a good 2.1 with stereo amp, bookshelf speakers and a 8-10" sub? Check out superfi since u in UK and Gumtree for used audio hardware

I think I might need a bit of help then, if I bought speakers and a sub would I need to buy a receiver. I am no audio genius, I have no idea when it comes to speakers and audio. Could you recommend a good set then I could find a seller? I just need something I could use with my Xbox and Pc that does not involve me buying 10 different adapter and cables.

If you are sticking to 2.0/2.1 all the way all u need are stereo/power amps but if u are considering expanding to 5.1/7.1 surround then an AVR is in order ^^
