Riddle Me This

Thread Starter
I was running an intel I5 661 that would bsod at the stock clock. I had to either over volt at the stock clock or underclock at stock voltage for it to run.

I recently swapped out for an I7 870 and its been running great.

Here is where it gets weird.

I have been playing the supersonic sled demo from NVIDIA and with the 661 the sled would blow up after travelling less than 1/4 of the track. It was very frustrating and i could never finish even after watching demo's online.
I swapped in the I7 and now driving the exact same way, and more aggressively, it does not explode.......

Its like it was miscalculating or something...... weird....

Maby you just got better at the game?

you said you drove more aggressively maby that was the key

Sounded like you had a duff chip anyway so it could have been the cause of the random exploding on the game.

Perhaps but with the 661 if I fired more than 1 rocket at a time it would blow up. Now I can fire 3 or all 4 and it just flies down the track.

Is the answer helicopter?

On a slightly more serious note, maybe the I7 can keep up with the physics aspect of the program so everything runs smoothly and there aren't any input errors when you try to run it?

Who knows.. I don't believe it was maxing out the CPU and it was very smooth even with the 661. Fast response on every command as well.
