Gpu ram?

Thread Starter
Im running a gaming laptop with 6Gb ram and a nvidia GTX 260m. After looking at my specs lately because I got a new HDD, I noticed that the GPU is taking some of my ram even though it has 1Gb of ram dedicated to it.
Since I play lots of todays games, would it be best to leave it or would I get a performance increase if I was able to stop it from sharing RAM? If it is better for it to stop sharing ram, how do I tell my GPU to do so?

You shouldn't experience any issues at all with 6GB of ram.
