Hi, I need a new CPU, mobo, GPU, and RAM to play BF3 and video editing/programming. I will be constrained by a 500w PSU.

Here's what I have lined up:

Corsair Vengeance 8 GB ( 2 x 4 GB ) DDR3 1600 MHz - $50
EVGA GeForce GTX 580 Superclocked 1536 MB GDDR5 - $400
ASUS P8P67 LE <REV 3.0> LGA 1155 MoBo - $130
Intel Core i5-2500 Processor 3.3GHz 6 MB Cache - $210

Look good? Mobo ok?

get the 3gb version of the gtx580 and the mobo you can get an asus p8z68 v pro (rev 3) or p8z68 LE. Rest is ok.

with the code NEWCUSTOMER10 its $210. I would do that since you can overclock the 2500k

unless you don't want to overclock, then go with the 2500

make sure you are getting the 2500K or 2600K as those allow you to overclock easier and higher. the rest looks good except the asus p8z68-v pro gen 3 board just came out and its around $200

Good ram
Only the 3gb version only needed if you are going to play at higher resolutions. Good gfx card otherwise
Get an z68 board not p67 :S
2500K if your gaming most of the time other wise because your editing get a 2600k because it will be better in After effects and Vegas.

You wont be able to use a 500w psu with the parts you posted.

if you are playing at 1080p resolution, and not planning to SLI, the 3gb 580 is a waste. its only good for high resolution and/or sli setups

although its not that big of a step up from the 560 Ti, which i think is of better value, especially since either one will just be outdated in a few months anyway. i would get a 560 Ti hawk and OC it.

Not true.

I've used well over 1.5GB @ 1080p on multiple games.
