New to watercooling

Thread Starter
Just finished building my rig a few weeks ago. Swapped my gtx 590 for an ati 6990 and holy moly is that sucker loud! So decided to take a plunge with watercooling. I have a few questions....

I want to cool both my 6990 and my 6970 on the same loop. My cpu is on a h100 right now, and prob gonna keep it that way. Would a 200mm radiator (push/pull) and 140mm radiator(push) be enough to cool down the gpus? Or should I just piggyback a RX360(push/pull) on the backside of the case with the external mounting bracket? Is the pump on the Rasa 750 kit enough for 2 video cards? Or should I start looking at beefier pumps.

My first attempt at installing a GPU waterblock didn't come out so well. The kit came with ceramique, which I don't think is conductive. But it was messy as hell, it dripped over a few other components. I tried cleaning it up but it smeared and became worst. It shouldn't be conductive so I didn't wanna mess with it anymore. Is this alright or should I get some cleaner and start over?

My Rasa kit came with what looks like a mobo connector, with 2 pinouts bridged. I'm guessing this is how you turn on the mobo to "test" out your loop. Is this right?

That is a nice looking block. If Swiftech did those for the GTX580 I would have got one instead of the Koolance blocks I'm using.

The thing about rad surface area required is dependent on the speed of your fans. A 240 can cool the same amount of heat as a 360 if it moves more air (higher rpm fans). The tradeoff is noise.

One way people get around this is to have push pull config of two lower rpm fans.

Basically, amount of rad depends on noise of fans you can tolerate.

From the research I did when I bought my gpu blocks, Swiftech Epsilon was always on the top tier for the 6990s.
