Battlefield 3 Crossfire/Performance issues? Complete list of known fix's here! 12.10 link inside! - Page 13

For those of you who experience microstutter try this.

In console type: gametime.maxvariablefps 65 (caps the maximum fps to 65)
If you have render.perfoverlayvisible on before typing the command above, you'll hopefully see the graph going from looking something like this ||||||||| to something like this
biggrin.gif

FYI I'm running CF 6850's (stock at the moment) everything on HIGH, no AA, 16xAF and SSAO with Catalyst 11.11 and CAP 2.
I haven't tried dialing up the settings yet, but if I'm thinking for this to work use settings that allow you to have a minimum fps of 65 (or whatever other value you enter)

Not at all sure it's going to work for anyone else, but it worked out great for me.

You might be just better of turning vsync on.

Might be, just thought I'd post a tip that helped me, in the hopes of it maybe helping someone else.
Think I read somewhere that someone actually still got stuttering with vsync on, but this helped.
So if it can help anyone, great. If not, at least it's a quick and simple thing to test.

I get microstuttering when i strafe and pan (circlestrafe). The link exactly shows my issues.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_dGX4vaMAs

However when I turn off vsync or go to single gpu this issues seems to vanish. Although surprisingly(really?!) some other stuff pops up... Flickering textures like in the following 2 links.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGc9dYfEzlI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1nNn0YA8Yw

Capping my fps too 65 does help with the excessive screentearing but the other issues consist.

I have tested both my gpus individually and so far have not really experienced any thing strange. Although on both I suspected seeing artifacts on Theran Highway(gray snow/ash flakes trough the sky, however I checked some youtube videos and they seem to be an graphical environment effect.... could be wrong tho?

For the rest I have tried about any trick in the known book... tried several drivers, console commands, mousesettings...

Sharing the pain, anyone with the same issues or suspecting an RMA or tips for that matter holla back!

setup:
running 11.11a + cap1(cap2 same no improvements)
i-2500k clocked to 4.6ghz
Xfire MSI 6950(shaders unlocked) clocked at 900/1400 (although issues are not solved at stock speeds either!)
8GB RAM / 750W PSU
Asus p8z68-v

Cheers!

I wasn't impressed with 11.11a and 11.11 cap2. Gonna try some previous caps. It seemed I had the best performance with 11.10 and cap4.

Tried, and failed.
Game runs a lot smoother capping the framerate through console than turning on vsync.

Are you even getting over 60 fps with everything maxxed? I mean everything.
What sort of fps are you getting?
I get 50 to 70 with my setup on 1080p with vsync on i get almost constant 60 and its smooth.

Has anyone tested 11.11b yet on HD 6990? am sick and tired from removing and installing drivers. i've already did with like 6-7 drivers...
please let us know if anyone has tested this lately. thanks!
Right just run 'furmark v1.9.1' using the 11.11a drivers and got '5606' score....then installed the new 11.11b drivers and got '5607' score,no problems

http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/furmark_all_scores_190.php look for the 6800 series if you go for a look
