BF3 Crossfire Issues! - Page 16

What I've tried so far:

11.10 WHQL's/11.10 Preview 3
11.9 CAP4's with/without
PhysX card disabled/drivers removed
ATIMan/Driver Sweeper/Driver Cleaner.net used for cleaning
ULPS turned off
MSI Afterburner turned off
Disable API monitoring on RadeonPro/RadeonPro turned off
CCC/MOM.exe shut down
Reinstalling/repairing BF3

...And I still get issues launching this damn game. Either it freezes at the DICE/EA logo movie, or I get a black screen right on launch with 100% CPU usage on all cores.

If I do get to launch it, it runs just fine maxed. Though I do get main menu artifacts if I set it to 2x/4x MSAA. frown.gif

I give up on this game and AMD. It's problems like these which are forcing me to switch to Nvidia next generation. I stuck with ATI for three generations of dual GPU's now and they still have issues with new games. It's quite frustrating to say the least...

Any other suggestions guys? I feel like I wasted my money on nothing.

I have had no problems with crossfire what so ever. Some slowdown spikes sometime but it is very rare

Thought I should tell you guys what the problem was. Apparently, it was the 11.10 driver series giving me headaches. I just realized I had completely skipped a month and went from 11.8 to 11.10 Previews/WHQL. Tried 11.9 on a whim, no CAP's, and it's just butter smooth gaming with no more freezes or black screens.

Only issue left now is that it hangs sometimes if I change video settings. Turning MSAA on forces me to Alt+Enter twice to get Crossfire to kick in. That and I lost a few frames from when the 11.10 + 11.9 CAP4 combo did work, but it's all worth it as I can finally play this damn game.

I'm gonig to try your solution with no CAPs. This sucks because I play other games which use CAPs. This is highly annoying. Maybe i'll just play it at 1080p with 1 card until this is actually fixed.

That solution didn't work for me the other day, ive tried everything and it just runs like pants. Heres hoping AMD/Dice have something up there sleeves because this is ridiculous.

Tried 11.9 with caps and without (was hoping this was the cure as a lot of people in this thread are having good results) but no it was the same maybe a tad worse (teran highway i was watching it sitting at 35% usage across both my cards). I sure hope AMD have something up there sleve i know im not the only one with this problem, and i know its not my system, BC2, Crysis 2, Heaven benchmark all tax my gpu to the max and i get around 100% scaling. The cpu overclock is working as expected ive checkd with cpuz while running bf3. stupid drivers! but hey i know it will get resolved, its just frustrating at the moment.

I have the same problem as you with 6950 x2, but I only got a Q9450 @ 3.4ghz cpu. I thought maybe if I upgrade to 2500k the problem would be solved, well since you have this problem then I should wait til you fix your problem first before I buy anything new...
I just can't get why others with similar system don't have any problems, while some do have issues.
I guess we have to wait for amd/dice to get this fixed..
By the way, I get very good crossfire scaling (about 100%), when using the sniper scope, then I immediately get 60fps ++, in a single card I would only get 40fps.. But generally I have about 60% usage, and decreases when watching in long distances or much going on on the screen.
