So in a lot of cases it performed better than Native lanes. Thats why it is still used today on P and H series and i think even Z chipsets. I think you'll find if a bridge chip is used on the X79 and later boards it wont be an NF200, as its only PCIe2 spec.

Im not an Nvidia Fanboy either, far from it. I only made the switch from AMD because a couple games I like arent getting good driver support from AMD. AMD is easier to overclock, runs cooler and uses far less power, and Eyefinity actually works first go.. Try Getting 4way SLI multi-monitor to work! Took me 2 days!
thanks for clarifying, yes it make sense, I thought it was just a bandwidth replicator for a long time. Probably come time for nf 300 now anyways.

Did you ever try your build with only tri sli and see if quad improved for mutli monitors?

Yeah for what they give to you in terms of customer support, warranty, and an otherwise pretty solid board aimed at enthusiasts, you get pretty shoddy power phase design (on their X58 mobos).

4-way improved performance for everything. Yes I did a little testing on a few games/benches testing single, dual, tri and 4-way SLI and saw great scaling for some and only OK for others. It's harder to scale game engines these days unless the game code has been written from the ground up to allow for parrallel processing. In all cases 4-way scaled better in surround gaming than 3-way or 2-way.

I must admit, from a strictly "looks" perspective, the UD3 has it all over the UD7, and since it is apparently supporting 4 way SLI, I'd take it any day over the UD7.

It looks like the UD3 wont overclock the CPU as well as the UD7 though. It has less phases and no heatsink for VRMs.

Shouldn't be a problem if you're only cooling under water. If you're doing phase change of going the full LN2 route, then the phases will be an issue. Heatsink for the VRMs could be no problem with an after market water block, too.

It bothers me that there's unused space between SATA headers on most of them. That absolutely bare PCB... ugh.

On another note, if the UD3 is well priced, it's going to sell like hotcakes at IHOP.

you don't need NF200 to run 4-way SLi on X79, NVIDIA has certified 4-way with 8x/8x/8x/8x on X79 and 990FX chipset for AMD. The UD7 has no NF200 either.

X58 is NOT X79, Nvidia expected people to buy the NF200, but not many are anymore, and so they have given up on it really. only EVGA and saphire have used them on board for X79, that is not a good sign for that IC.

Here is the reason, NF200 doesn't support PCi-E 3.0.

only boards i have seen with NF200 are like the X79 classified, and Sapphire.

if you look at the ROG R4E there is no NF200 either.

Seriously guys, this isn't an argument.

When they release the specs, which will confirm this, because that is a picture of the final board, posted on every website as of now, the pics they sent out last night, look for that if you don't believe.

I'm getting that UD7! That just pushed me to go SB-E instead of waiting on IB. I'll go for a black and orange lambo look
