$200 rough budget for new card for BF3

Hey guys, so I cheated on the Gr33n Machin3 by trying out a XFX HD6950 2GB and an MSI HD6870 1GB Twin Frozr II. Both of the cards ended up having driver issues/crashing. I finally got the 6870 to work but it fairs poorly at running BF3.

After returning the HD6950 I will have around a $200-240 budget. What's my best shot at getting BF3 to run on "High" settings with decent FPS on Multiplayer?

Couldn't you have unlocked the 6950 to a 6970?

But I'd say save up and get a 570 if anything,..
I have the 580 and just installed the new drivers running Ultra at around 60 frames and 70+ on maps like metro.

The 570 isn't a HUGE difference from the 580 if you OC to what 580 gets stock.

570. Maybe a 560Ti but a 570 is really the "recommended" card by DICE to play on high settings.

TBH I'd sit tight with that 6870 and wait for the next series of cards. If you must buy now maybe try and get a cheap 480/470?

And for those saying to keep the 6950... I think you missed the part where I said it was a dud and I returned it. I guess I could get a new one. I didn't bother having it RMA'd cuz I thought I'd go with an Nvidia card instead... since they aren't notorious for putting out bad drivers.

Although the 9.10 did work fine with the 6870.

And I guess in reality my budget is closer to $300. Might go with the 570.

I'm not even getting 30 FPS with my 6870... I wonder what I'm doing wrong. I get like 15-25 FPS on high settings.

And the 570 gets less than 50 FPS Damn your sweet, sweet supple graphics BF3

Adjust your settings as follows (excluding the resolution, of course):
