I bought a power supply off ebay called' APower AK seriers 680Watt, dual rail it was cheap.. sometimes i got to unplug computer to start it up, I get this when I'm turning computer on and stuff/ Power supply surges detected during the previous power or Asus Anti-Surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply unit. My Gpu is Sapphire 5830, also i when i go to over clock or unlock a core it shuts my computer completely off, So do i need a new psu?

What are you system specs? Go here to add it.

Also, it all depends, I have not heard of that PSU Brand so i cannot tell you if they are reliable or not, but your CPU might not be able to be unlocked. How are you approaching overclocking? what are you changing? Where are you changing it?

May be the main cause. I don't tend to buy anything that isn't Coolermaster or Corsair. If you've got another PSU to test the PC with, that may give you an even bigger indication.

Alternatively, before shelling out, try taking all the components out leaving only the CPU and cooler in the mobo. See if it boots up and gives you missing RAM beeps. Then install one stick of RAM, boot to see if it's successful and keep adding the sticks until it boots up fine.

If you get any errors you may have some bad RAM which could cause shutting down. But try the first suggested idea initially.

Likely. Go to the top of this section and use phaedrus' calculator, then check out the suggested PSU list and get yourself something decent.

Go to your User CP and then go to your system page and fill in all the information. It makes it much easier for people here to help you as they can see all of your specs without you having to type them out.

I would bet on it that it's your psu thats causing the problems.

You need to Always buy a decent power supply.

Corsair/antec/seasonic are 3 of the best

Power supply surges detected during the previous power on. Asus Anti-Surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply unit.
F1 To Run Setup(bios)
F2 to load default values and continue(makes it work)
