Using 2 GTS250's for three monitors?

Thread Starter
Hey there,

I'm currently using a GT420 graphics card and am in need of a cheap but worthwhile upgrade. So I was going to buy two GTS250's as they are very cheap and should serve me well for what I want to do (video editing and gaming).

So I was wondering whether it would be possible to take the current setup i have now (upgrading the psu), but take out the GT420 and chuck in two GTS250's and use three monitors? And how would it be possible to do that. I'm not the most knowledgable about computers, so the first thing that popped to my head was using two HDMI monitors and just one DVI cable in the other. would that work or do i need specific other things to do this?

Sorry if this is a little confusing, i hope you get what i'm saying

SLI GTS 250's wont support triple monitors as far as I know.

Performance wise, if you bought a GTX 460 off EVGA b-stock for $120. It would be better.

Alternatively, you could go with a 5770 from ATi/AMD that will natively support tripple monitors.

i believe 2 or more GTX2XX series and up are required for multi-monitor setup......you can however run three monitors with 2 GTS250s, but you'll game on one
