Need 2nd Monitor

Ok. I don't really know that much about monitors. This is the one I currently have:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...066&CatId=4420

I want to get a 2nd monitor but I don't know what would be compatible with this one. I am starting my 3 monitor setup that I will have after I get my 2nd GTX 570.

Any suggestions?

What you idealy need is one of 21.4" x 16.1" x 9.8" ( the dimentions of your current monitor)

if you have different sized ones it could look weird.

I would go with this http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...507&CatId=4420

The resolutions are different though. Should I just run my Samsung in 1080p?

its much easier if you run both in 1080p

... no it's not. I don't see why you would say this.

There's no conflict in running two different resolutions on an extended desktop, and intentionally lowering the resolution of one monitor just does not make sense. However, if one wants surround or eyefinity, all resolutions in the group must match during gaming.

@OP: If you can find your current monitor somewhere, I recommend you grab another one. It's much nicer to run identical monitors.

But if you can't, just look for asus monitors if that's the limit of your price range, recommending VH and VW series above VE and VS, but all do fine. VS and VE have a bit of overdrive trails, which is fixable, but has to be done while turning on the monitor, every time, on a few of the models. If your price range is higher, let us know.

BTW: I can't access the link, but if your current monitor is 1920x1200, and you plan on surround in the end, please do get more 1200p screens, preferrably the same models. Surround has had a few issues running different model monitors in the past, not sure of the current situation. Anyways, it's really not ideal to have one monitor have to scale down the resolution for surround.

Thanks De-Zant! After some reading I think it would be wise for me to do as you explained or go with a 120mhz monitor. I am leaning towards the 120mhz now. I am purchasing my second card today and then have a month or so to decide on 3x1080 or 1 120mhz monitor.

Buy the same identical monitors as much as possible.
Go surround and don't look back. It feels like there is something missing(There actually is) whenever I try single monitor after playing in Eyefinity.

120hz is nice too x3.
