21c to 31c? O_o

Thread Starter
Using the Asus AI 2 suite on my machine, I'm getting cpu temps from 21c to 31c. As in one second it will say 21, then the next thing it says is 31. Any idea why this is? Surely doesn't sound healthy for the CPU if its really fluctuating that much that fast. I'm typing this thread from the pc doing this.

My room temp is 76deg 24~c so 21 has to be a mess up somehow. Any ideas?

Temp probe on the koolance pump/res says 28.3c

Is that like a single core reading? - try core temp or hardware monitor.

It's because the Asus AI Suite is crap for temp readings and has been for many years. Try Real Temp or Core Temp.

i'm pretty sure if your case is below your ambient temps that's when condensation forms and can cause damage. But i'm not sure how your case could be cooler than your ambient temps. Have you tried using a different tool to measure temps? HWMonitor, Speedfan, or your BIOS when you boot up?

Just downloaded real temp. All cores are running at 31c atm. Not bad considering stock was around mid 40s. Running a triple radiator setup

I am definitely happy with this system. With 30 web browsers open, 2 eve online clients, outlook, and a few various other programs this thing is running like a champ. 41c is highest its hitting on EVERYTHING. Graphics, cpu, everything.

Anyone recommend a program to monitor memory temps if possible?

RAM doesn't have sensors but you could use a probe or an infra-red thermometer. It's not really necessary though.

Idle temps are extremely inaccurate but still your temps may fluctuate a little bit depending on idle load.
It is not dangerous. I recommend using coretemp/realtemp or something like that to see individual core temps.
(The actual processor die doesn't weigh much at all so despite having good cooling it will change according to small changes in load)
