I mostly just want another typical PC title. Exlusive PC title, RPG/FPS, insane requirements that are gonna aren't gonna be available on consoles till the next gen, and something that doesn't rely on modding community to do devs job.
Metro 2033 was good (Albeit it may have resulted in some terrible optimizations.) Although it wasn't launched as an exclusive PC title, it did manage to get people to upgrade their components just so they could run it slightly better. I wouldn't measure it to Crysis level quality since you can't mod the settings like you could in any of the Crysis games (Even Crysis 2.)

I take these low specs in two possible ways:

1. They're low because they've tailored the game to the low spec machines that make up "modern" console gaming.

2. They've just optimized the heck out of it

I'm more inclined to believe the former, especially considering Bethesda's/Gamebryo's track record of being a resource hog with memory leaks and bugs.

Hell maybe it's a bit of both.

Graphically i don't find the game that impressive based on videos i've seen. If it wasn't for the smoother animations, i'd be convinced it was an oblivion/fallout 3 texture overhaul.

Nonetheless i'm eagerly awaiting this title.

Oh yeah, forgot about Metro. It's indeed demanding and it has all the sweetness of DX11. But yeah.

While most might not agree, there weren't IMO no great jumps in terms of graphics since original Crysis. Yeah, Metro 2033 look great. But there were games that looked closely good. In it's defense, Metro was mostly dark and closed unlike Crysis which was a beautiful island. I got my 9800GT something like 3 or something more years ago just so that I could play it (or warhead) on 25-30fps on enthusiast on x64 and the drivers were mature as well. And just walk down the beach and on occasion blow up a jeep (shot in the gas tank) just magnificent. Crysis was a great game IMO, Crysis 2 was boring linear crap.

Other demanding game, on default, I would say Witcher 2, but just cause of the "uber sampling" option that is useless and with it off even on my crappy rig it's almost/barely playable (something like 18-30 fps mostly 22-23) on ultra settings.

I'm now playing Elder Scrolls: Arena. And while it's demanding in terms of hardware it's freaking demanding in terms of gameplay that I've died dozens of time trying to get out of the first dungeon. I miss those hardcore games. And Skyrim is going out with a lot of options simplified and what is a biggest insult to me... health regeneration. Urgh. But... In mods I trust.

P.S. I'm prolly gonna go Leeroy Jenkins on dragons. Just... punch him right in the face! XD

They keep saying they're demoing on Xbox 360 just cause it's easier and it's lowest quality and of course it's gonna look best on pc etc...
It's gonna be a console port. They've learned a lesson from fallout 3/new vegas. Don't bother too much with PC (in their words).

Also another thing, they're using same engine since morrowind (I think Gamebryo was even in morrowind) and they are just polishing it. Even if it was since oblivion it's still too much of a stretch. That being that they aren't gonna try nothing new till new console arrive. Oblivion was for x360 even UI screamed that. PC is a tertiary thing on their mind.

Graphically, it's a lot better than Oblivion, mostly cause of animation yes, but it's their team. And it's rare for such team to make miracles (especially these days cause of aforementioned piracy, they don't want to bother). And even so TES Nexus community made some amazing mods.

It's a fact that Skyrim is made primarily for consoles... Just look at control scheme.... It's been like that since Morrowind.

Nevertheless Oblivion is my favorite game of all times (partially cause of amazing mods), and I've played Morrowind and Arena as well and I have no doubt that Skyrim will be EPIC.

Well, they re-wrote enough of the engine (Todd Howard says MOST of it) that they renamed the engine and the content creation tools. When you start rewriting core modules of the engine, that isn't really polishing. At least that's how Todd Howard makes it sound. The rendering engine comes to mind, which he says they changed entirely. That's a pretty big change, and they also said they changed the gameplay engine entirely. That could mean a lot of different things, but is also a core element of the experience.

Well I'm still deciding whether to get Skyrim V or Saints Row: The Third. I've enjoyed the Saints Row series a bit, but they've been terribly ported where I'm fearful of how the third one will end up. They say they have an in-house team working on the PC side of things but... it's been said before and done terribly by other developers.
Really, I'm just hoping for good optimization, day one patches and fixes in the future, and higher coop/player counts in multiplayer for the PC.

I remember when games used to have 'demos' and you could try before you buy.

And 6GB HDD space for a game this size? Textures can't be large.
A 4890 is an overclocked 4870 spec-wise. The 4890 and GTX 260 trade blows, the Core 216 pulls ahead sometimes, at higher resolutions the 4890 wins usually, and it depends on the title some games have TWIMTBP profiles which give nV users a hand.

IMO if you enjoyed Elder Scrolls series even a little bit get Skyrim. If you haven't played any from the series, get Skyrim. If you think about getting Saints Row: The Third over Skyrim take a look over at TES Nexus where there are over 12k mods for Oblivion and then get Skyrim.

They call that pirated copies these days. And the funniest thing is that demos would reduce piracy by a bit or at least take one excuse away or at least provide a legal option for fans or just people willing to test it themselves without resorting to reviews / scores etc.
