Asus GTX 580 Matrix Platinum

Thread Starter
As the title says, hoping for some knowledgeable users to appraise my Asus GTX 580.

It's a GTX 580 Matrix Platinum Edition with all packaging and accessories. It's about 3.5 months old and in excellent condition with no cosmetic wear/scrapes/damage.

The exact card I have was reviewed by HWC, here is the link: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/45158-asus-rog-gtx-580-matrix-platinum-review.html

The reviewer was able to achieve the below overclock on air. Although I have ran it at 900/4200 since I received the card and never pushed it past 925/4400 for benching.

HWC Overclock:

Core Clock: 1070 MHz
Engine Clock: 2140 MHz
Memory Clock: 4648 MHz (QDR)

Assuming you paid the price I can find ($535), I'd say anywhere from $440-470. That HWC core clock is f%$&ing ridiculous, by the way. wink.gif

Good luck mate, I have one and I'm in love with it. Mmmh In fact, I might even buy you this one... Maybe... By the beginning of November (waiting payday), not before. That if you're willing to ship to France, and if we manage to agree on a price wink.gif

Serious offer, of course.

Can you even SLI Matrixes on the Sabertooth? I don't think there would be enough spacing between the cards since they're three slot.

Either way, the Matrix is a sick card...my favorite air cooled 580 along with the Lightning.

Yes I can SLI two of course. I just don't have an empty space between them. But it works. I already got a soundcard touching the Matrix.
And I'll upgrade my mobo when Ivy Bridge comes out, I will be able to choose one allowing more room for the cards to breathe.

You mean this card was physically in there hands for testing for that review at those clocks?eek.gif

Sorry, I'm just confused here. If it clocks this high, then the price should be close to what a new one would be.

Goodluck and I might be interested in it.smile.gif

I don't see why it should? Its a used card, albeit not old - 3 months and a half is quite fresh indeed smile.gif
I fail to see the relation with the fact that they pushed it at these speeds. Why does a used card's price should get closer to its price new beacuse of clock speed? Haven't tried to push it but I'm quite confident I can come close with mine. I mean, it's a Matrix Platinum. cool.gif And I have the full package.

Ouch, now that I'lm thinking of it, the one tested in HWC was one of the first to be shipped to reviewers for testing, meaning the model with the first Bios and you have no bundle at all coming with?

You can buy a new card and have a dud that only OC's to 900 core if your lucky while this one does over 1GHz no problem. I'd pay for the certainty of that overclockability.

I've read on here that someone sold a 57x multi 2600K for $750. That kind of money is steep but is well worth it to a bencher.

I would say $425 shipped would be a good sale. If you don't mind holding on to it for a while, you might be able to get $450.
