Laptop screen won't turn on.

Thread Starter
Laptop boots up fine, but the screen won't turn on. Works fine with an external monitor, as well. We replaced the display cable, but that isn't doing the trick. Any ideas? Could it be fried? Time for a new laptop?

I had a same problem on my uncles laptop, I decided it wasnt worth the time and money to fix, he sold it off for spares and repairs and used the money from that plus a little cash for a new one

Could be the lcd screen, the inverter (if its not built into the lcd) or even the motherboard...

Although the motherboard being the issue for what you're describing is rare, it can happen :/
